Dr. Katy Rich

Katy was born and raised in Thunder Bay and began her studies at Lakehead University where she obtained two undergraduate degrees: HBSc (Applied Biomolecular Sciences with Physics) and a BSc (Mathematics). She continued her studies at Lakehead by completing her Masters of Science (Physics) degree studying molecular imaging and cell death under supervision of Dr. Patrick Rapley at TBRHSC.

Dr. Rich completed her optometric training and education at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry and Vision Science graduating in 2014. During her fourth year externship rotations she studied under many specialised ophthalmologists at OMNI eye services in Atlanta, Georgia with focus on diseases of the cornea, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes and age related macular degeneration.

Katy has developed a full scope of optometric skills and is very passionate about eye health and patient education.
